“Is a group of 30,000 Muslims more of a global concern and national threat than a nation with established nuclear capabilities, friendships with questionable state actors, and an apparent thirst to expand its global influence?”

PITTSBURGH CABLE NEWS CHANNEL (February 27, 2015):

“…is a group of 30,000 Muslims more of a global concern and national threat than a nation with established nuclear capabilities, friendships with questionable state actors, and an apparent thirst to expand its global influence?” Is the reality of terrorism greater from a group that is enraged over a cartoon or from threats of cutting off gas supplies to a nation of 45 million people during the winter and ongoing violence that threatens to break up Ukraine? The vision that Soviet leaders had for ‘The Ukraine’ during the Cold War parallels what Vladimir Putin may seek in the sovereign nation of Ukraine today…”

Lenny McAllister (“NightTalk: Get to the Point”) uses his “Starting Point” commentary to discuss the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia and the historic parallels between the build-up in the 1930s with Nazi Germany’s aggression with its neighbors and today’s Russian aggression under Vladmir Putin. McAllister provides this perspective to begin the February 27 episode of “Get To The Point” on the Pittsburgh Cable News Channel .

Starting Point: Elevating Black Male Leadership in 2015 (Feb 20, 2015)

Commentator and host Lenny McAllister hints to the need for Black male leadership similar to the rise of Civil Rights leaders from the 1950s and 1960s.

PITTSBURGH CABLE NEWS CHANNEL (February 20, 2015): Political and social commentator Lenny McAllister (Host, “NightTalk: Get to the Point”) believes that for African-Americans and the United States overall to turn around, there is a need for Black male leadership to take their effectiveness to another standard and level.

I mentioned the need for an immediate black renaissance throughout Pittsburgh and America in order for our region and nation to fulfill its potential. That will only come about with a resurgence of successful black men in corporate America, the halls of academia, and the streets of a civil rights movement…”

McAllister uses his “Starting Point” commentary to highlight this need further during Black History Month 2015 during this clip from the February 20 episode of “Get To The Point” on the Pittsburgh Cable News Channel .

McAllister’s Get To The Point Panel this week included Dr. Waverly Duck of Pitt’s Center on Race and Social Problems, community activist and mentor Malcolm (Minnekhekh)Thomas , and Pittsburgh-based attorney Blaine Jones.
